Street Parking in Suburbia

Found this in a different part of my suburban neighborhood this morning while walking the pupper. Looks like someone came into the neighborhood at high speed and plowed into the Fit. In the photo you can see the skid mark possibly from the parked Fit, and some of the taillight debris that indicates to me that this is where the accident happened.

Someone wasn’t paying attention and may have been driving impaired. This is about a 100 yards in one of the entrance roads to the cul-de-sac maze.

I will say, the evening is one of my favorite times to just go for a drive. There are some nights that I make sure I stay sober so I can go tear up some roads after the sun has set. It was one of my favorite things to do in Corpus Christi.

I love late night driving, but the drunks terrify me. It’s a horrible conflict. Although I want to do it, I know many of the people I encounter out there when I do it are severely impaired and that puts me in danger...

I like cycling at night, but there are definitely roads where some drunk plowing into me at 50 mph seems disturbingly probably. Sober drivers are dangerous enough.
